I SPENT MY CAREER LAUNCHING NEW IDEAS...
A native of Texas, I grew up moving around with parents who were corporate nomads. This sparked my curiosity about people and cultures the rest of my life. I studied economics and management sciences at Duke University and spent my career with Fortune 500 technology companies, working with startups, associations, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and communities.
Though my titles varied, my focus has always been the same: introducing a compelling new idea that could make the world better AND to inspire people to join in and take ACTION. I've launched new programs, new offerings, new partnerships and joint ventures, new divisions and new companies.
What I noticed is how often leaders fall in love with their WHAT (their cool new solutions) but do not focus much on the WHO, the PEOPLE who need to understand and take action for a new initiative to be successful.
